Spacemen

I've always been a fan of space opera with huge casts and exploring weird alien races and dangerous remote planets. Spacemen borrows heavily from things like Green Lantern Corps and Legion of Super-Heroes, but the space aliens angle is supplemented by a heavy presence on Earth - approximately 50/50 of the time is spent on Earth/space. The Earthside brings in another core element to the series, that of humanity's reactions towards space aliens walking among them. Fear and distrust face these ambassadors from space, giving the series also thematics similar to the (too-?)popular X-Men.

On the right, you can see some of the intros/opening vignettes for a number of Spacemen. The first Spacemen story will parallel Giant-Size X-Men #1 to a degree, with an old team in trouble and a new team needing to be recruited to rescue them. A mysterious woman by the name of Ikara will be doing the recruiting on behalf of the Galactic Empire, but are her motives entirely altruistic...?
