Cable Girl

Cable Girl chronicles the adventures of Belle Barstow, a high school cheerleader. It aims for the same kind of vibe as the good old Lee-Romita-MJ-Gwen-Flash-Harry period Amazing Spider-Man tales - a well-balanced mixture of superheroics and teen drama, about 50/50 split. Growing up, the sacrifices one has to make, and trying to juggle friendships while saving lives. It's not easy on our teenage protagonist, especially when she's a cheerleader - the epitome of what some people write off as a 'bimbo'. But can't even a bimbo have a good heart? What if you're not so smart, and worry about clothes and makeup - yet spend your nights on rooftops risking your lives for people who turn their noses up at the presumed shallowness of your civilian guise? It is this dichotomy that stands at the heart of the series.

For illustrating Cable Girl, I've chosen Mahmud A. Asrar from Turkey. You can see a sample of his work over on the right sidebar. I hope you'll like it!
